He’s Already Smiling

Let me ask you something real quick…

When you imagine God looking at you, what do you see?

Is He smiling? Is He kind?

Or… does He seem disappointed? Maybe even a little frustrated?

It’s a simple question, but how we answer it says a lot about how we see God—and how we believe He sees us. And that one belief can either draw us closer to Him… or quietly build walls around our hearts.

Here’s what I’ve realized:

The enemy is constantly whispering lies about who God is. He’ll paint Him as distant, frustrated, cold—as if God is just putting up with us until we finally “get it right.”
But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

God isn’t watching you with a clipboard.
He’s not grading your progress.
He’s not shaking His head thinking, “When will they finally get it together?”

No—He’s waiting.
Watching.
Loving.
Longing.

He’s a Father who actually enjoys you.
Not the polished version. Not the one who feels “spiritual.”
Just you.

You said “yes” to Jesus—and that yes brought you into His heart in a way that’s deeper than we’ll ever fully grasp this side of eternity.
And when you walk into the secret place, He’s not annoyed. He’s not cold.
He’s been waiting for you to show up.

Even when you forget Him—He never forgets you.
When your thoughts wander, His stay fixed.
When you get distracted, He stays present.
And when you finally come back, even with your mess, He just says:

“I’ve been here all along. I love you so much.”

You don’t have to work your way back into His presence.
Because you never left His heart.

So if you’re feeling distant or disqualified, let this be your reminder:

You’re not behind.
You’re not a burden.
You’re not too messy or too slow.
You’re wanted.

God isn’t in love with some future version of you.

He’s in love with you. Right now. As you are.

So go ahead. Step into His presence.

He’s already smiling.
