It’s Time to Truly Live Again

A Heartfelt Word About Comparison, Calling, and Coming Alive

By Sheila Ramos

Lately, I’ve been contemplating what it really means to live. What truly matters—and what doesn’t.

In a world of endless scrolling, curated perfection, and loud ministry platforms, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling short. That if your life doesn’t resemble the missionary, the ministry leader, the constantly “doing,” then maybe you’re not doing enough for the Kingdom.

But I want to talk about something that many of us wrestle with: comparison.

For years, I watched friends building ministries, serving the poor, leading movements. And I often felt like what I was doing in the quiet places—at home, in my marriage, with my children—didn’t really count. I felt small. Unseen.

But one night, God gave me a dream.

In it, I saw a house on a hill. Above it, three words appeared one after another:

Management. Habitation. Revival.

When I woke up, I heard the Lord whisper:

“Sheila, I need you to manage your home well, so I can have a place for My presence to habitate in. Then wherever you go—I will be. And there will be revival.”

That dream changed everything.

I realized God was inviting me to prioritize what He had already placed in front of me: my home, my marriage, my children, our rhythms.

Because that is where His presence dwells. And from that place—miracles, signs, and wonders flow.

For too long, we’ve gotten it backwards.

We’ve abandoned our homes in the name of “Kingdom work.” We’ve lifted up others’ visions and neglected our own. We’ve chased the field while ignoring the One who owns it.

But we weren’t created to be human doings. We were created to be. To know Him. To walk with Him. To abide in Him.

Working for God without living with Him only leads to burnout and striving.

But something is shifting. Right now.

God is flipping the script.

Because what man has often called “Kingdom” has left people burned out, broke, and disconnected from their families. That’s not Kingdom—that’s empire. And God is not in the business of building empires. He’s building homes.

He’s restoring marriages. He’s healing families. He’s reviving hearts.

The world is tired of a version of Christianity that looks nothing like Jesus. And honestly, so am I.

But God is stepping in.

He’s breaking the chains of comparison. He’s tearing down the lies. He’s calling His daughters and sons to come alive.

And here’s what I believe He’s whispering over you right now:

“Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me… The season has changed… The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth… Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place.”Song of Songs 2:10–13 TPT

This is your invitation to stop striving and start abiding.

To stop chasing—and start becoming.

You don’t need a stage to make an impact. You don’t need to be seen by thousands to be significant.

Your yes in the secret place is building something eternal.

God will teach you how to live. How to come alive. How to walk in the calling that is uniquely yours.

Let Him restore what feels lost. Let Him rebuild what’s been broken.

Fix your eyes on Him. Let Him breathe life into your heart again.

This is your season to come alive.

With love,

Sheila Ramos
